Trip Extension: Iguassu Falls & Brazil

Watch travelers trek through the rainforest and marvel at thundering Iguassu Falls on their optional extension.

Add thundering Iguassu Falls—twice as wide and 65 feet higher than Niagara Falls—to your explorations of the Southern Hemisphere’s natural wonders. On this extension, visit both the Argentinean and Brazilian sides of this astonishing array of 275 separate cascades and waterfalls—and let this lush tropical environment serve as a vivid contrast to your Antarctic experience.

It's Included:
Accommodations for 1 night in Buenos Aires and 2 nights in Iguassu
5 meals: Daily breakfasts and 2 dinners
Included tours: Iguassu Falls, Brazil  • Iguassu Falls, Argentina
Dedicated services of a local Program Director
Gratuities for local guides and motorcoach drivers
All transfers
  • In the afternoon, your Program Director will accompany you on a flight from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires, where you arrive in the early evening. After transferring to your hotel, the evening is yours.

  • After breakfast, fly to Iguassu Falls. This afternoon, you enjoy breathtaking views of the falls from the Brazilian side. A stone path leads to several platforms with fine views from different angles. You get close enough to the thundering torrents to feel the spray, and you may glimpse the park's resident coatis (raccoon-like animals). Enjoy an included dinner at your hotel this evening.

  • Today, witness sweeping views from the Argentinean side of the falls. Here, the falls can be approached, viewed, felt, and experienced from a number of angles: Along the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat) walk, the water plunges 240 feet into a roiling cauldron. With spray flying up to 50 feet above your head and rainbows dancing in it, the view here can only be described as breathtaking.

After lunch on your own, you may enjoy an afternoon at leisure within Iguassu National Park. Or, join an optional Great Adventure tour. On this optional tour, you'll discover the national park's lush vegetation and rushing waterfalls from multiple perspectives—including a panoramic ride along the Sendero Yacaratía trail that winds through the verdant jungle to the riverside. You'll return to the hotel this evening in time for an included dinner.

    • Meals included:

The morning is yours. Fly back to Buenos Aires this afternoon to board your overnight flight back to the U.S.

Please note: If you make your own international air arrangements, your extension price will increase due to internal air transportation. This extension may not be available on all departures. Ask our Travel Counselors for details. Call 1-800-221-2610.
